Vlog-cent

It was so fun the first time, I just had to do it again.

The vlog this month is an accent/dialect vlog.

The idea it to say these words: Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught, Antenna, Root beer, Ambulance, Museum, Milk, Orange, Apricot

and answer these questions:

What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped
body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry
groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?
Where do you buy your groceries?

So I did.

Then the Show and Tell part is to show your favorite room in your house. Which I tried to do here...

...and horribly failed.

My goal is to do this in one take someday, but I cheated this time and I'm publicly flogging myself by showing you my blooper take. Always good for a laugh. ;)

Here's the "better" take:

Don't you love my little Oscar speech at the end?

I can't believe I didn't notice that mascara smudge on my eye BEFORE I did the video. It was incredibly obvious to me when I watched this after uploading it to YouTube. Oh well. I was kind of lucky just to get some makeup on my face for the day. Who cares where that makeup went.

Thanks for hosting the party Shawn and Mamarazzi!

And make sure to go wish the birthday girl, Sami, a happy 30th birthday!

  1. That was cool Evelyn! I enjoyed seeing your house-how awesome to have some room! I was watching it this morning in my jammies with my little guy crawling around and he loved watching it too. He was talking to you the whole time. :)

  2. "Would a serial killer have Little Women sitting on her piano?" You crack me up! Seriously... wiping away tears of laughter. I so needed that this morning.

And I am so looking forward to meeting you next month! Yay!

  3. I totally say 'Soda' and have since 8th grade when there was this girl named Rachel (do you remember her) from Georgia who teased me once and said 'Pop is something you do, soda is something you drink.'

So now every ntime I hear someone say 'pop' I think that.

And I call them potato bugs.

  4. I don't think you have an accent. Rain in the sunshine is called Georgia rain, I think. (I remember taking this quiz on FB.)

My oldest came and sat on my lap while I was watching the one about your favorite room. He said, "Hey! We have a room like that!" "A room where kids aren't supposed to play or leave toys? yes we do!"

I hope you're able to get things in order to buy the house!

  6. I see no double chin!

I love that we are all sitting in the living room wearing our jammies!

I hear no accent, I actually think we sound the same and we say everything the same except apricot.

Again, that darn rolly-polly, I had no clue!

I love your blopper! If I showed all of mine no one would follow me anymore!

I hope you get your house, I hate moving!

A room just for visitors, what lucky friends you have!

What a sweet and sincere thank you, you're so sweet. Happy Birthday to both you and Sami, have a great get together! Funny, you think serial killer and I think organ harvester. On my first bloggy get together I just prayed I woke up in my bed with all of my organs and not in a tub of ice missing a kidney!

    Thanks for linking up again.

You almost made me teary eyed at the end because you are just so genuine...Hope you girls have fun with your meet up!

  8. I don't hear an accent! But since I'm from OR, I think we basically talk the same. You say, "er whatever" just like me!
Also, I want a room that I don't have to look at toys!
When Xazmin and I met up, everyone kept telling her I was really a 50 yo creeper. LOL!!!

  9. Soda. How about Soda Pop? Can we meet in the middle?

April must be THE month for 30th birthdays. MommyJ turns 30 this month too! But I'm the first so that makes me wise in my advice.

    1. Don't tell your husband that you don't want him to do anything.
    2. Buy yourself flowers. Because that's just nice.
    3. Make a 30th birthday wish list--mine that I put on my blogs has been ever so lovely to focus on.

LOVE these. Maybe one day I'll get up the guts to do one.

  10. I got a shout out! Whut!? Whut?! I kinda feel all famous and stuff! Happy Early Birthday, Girlie!

I didn't notice the smudge. I tried to find it but I missed it.

Ok...the way YOU say crayon and the way I say crayon are different. LOL!

Everybody's having meet ups! Too bad we can't ALLLLLL meet up and have one big fun shin-dig! I may be too much to handle. I know, I know. I hear that all the time. ;)

Good job, yo! I'll have mine up later. I had to re-record my fav room and it's taking FOREVER to download!

  12. I loved it when you sat down and "got real" LOL. I feel the same way. We moved to a new town about almost 2 years ago and I still don't know that many people here..it can be lonely sometimes and hard!! My friends live in my computer!! I heard that somewhere before and its' so true...especially cause my friends live far away and my blog friends....facebook is how I keep in touch with my friends.

ANyways, Loved your vlog, and it's so nice to have peace and quiet! I can definitely relate.
    Enjoy your week

  13. I love your blog!

I say soda, and I've moved to the land of people who say pop. But I like saying soda better, so I'm going to try to keep it that way.

Fun vlog! I might have to try that sometime. Maybe. Why do I feel chicken about it?

  14. You already know I love you, and that I seriously loved your vlog, but I couldn't NOT comment on it.
Thanks for the shout out, my friend! Roon watched all the videos too, and he was laughing right along with me. I don't think he's concerned that you're a serial killer, now that he knows you have Little Women on your piano. We're good to go!

  16. So I had all these comments to say about how adorable you are, how your dimples are so cute, how it is funny when you laugh at yourself, how I love the idea of the picture frames all over that big wall (that's how it is in my house too), how you guys got lucky & may get to buy the house you just planned to rent BUT then I got to the end & all I could do was cry. Yes, I cried. I am a big fat baby. I love that you love all of us. Wanna know why, cuz I love you too! You are one of the first bloggy peeps I really started chatting with, that I felt a "real" connection to & to get a shout out from you made me feels so good. You are so sincere & sooo sooo sweet. I so wish that I could afford to fly over & see you in May, meeting you & Sami would be amazing. One day it WILL happen!!!

Hugs to you & your adorable littles.

  17. You are SO cute! I think you look fab! It is so awesome to put faces and voices to people we have been reading for so long! LOVE IT!

  18. I LOVE your mirror on the wall. I am obsessed with the type of garland you have a-top it, too. I am loving your vlogs because it is so comforting to hear your voice. That's one thing about networking is that you never get to hear the voices - or see their handwriting. That's why I LOVE hand-addressed snail mail!

You have such a happy blog and I love stalking you.

  19. Ah, such a nice Vlog. I almost felt like I was sitting there with you. And, I don't think you have an accent. You talk like an Idahoan and there's nothing wrong with that!

And, I love your "Oscar speech" at the end. I know you know a lot of Sarahs but I'm living on the high of hoping you were referring to me! I always thought you were awesome, but I have really enjoyed getting to know you better and I'm hoping to follow in your bloggy footsteps and make a lot of friends. You rock!

  20. Ha at least you put some make up on. Ya I was too lazy to do more than one take so ya yours is so much better than mine lol.

  21. I don't think you have an accent. We say a lot of the same stuff. I know exactly how you feel moving. We've moved so much and when you have little kids you don't get out that much. Bloggy friends are awesome! :) Hope you have a great birthday!!

  22. Oh, you have a littel...teeny tiny...accent. :)

You have beautiful eyes. Just thought I'd tell you that!

These vlogs are so fun! You're right...it feels like we're all just sitting around chit chatting. I love it.

  23. I hear no accent. Idaho. I'm sorry. LOL! My parents live there now. But I grew up in Washington. We PNWners have no accent!
So was that the Logan Temple in the back of the stack of pictures? It looked like it. It's such a pretty temple!
    Thanks for sharing!
